Wraith-Song...) )

A troubled, and initially hunted people, the wraith carry their sadness, optimism, hope, and despair in their voices. They are happy now; cared for and content; but they never forget where they come from. The Sidiar wraith have tapped into their own shadow-layers, and that of the realm itself. They sing songs so haunting and heartbreaking, they might make even the UnGod weep.

It's an ethereal, yet earthy style of vocals. To a Terran it would be an odd fusion of Islamic payer song, and responsorial Native American. They combine it with strange whispering sounds generated from sound-orbs, and technological musical instruments; as well as hand-crafted pipes, drums, and small stringed harps.

One can often hear a group of wraith singing, with perhaps one voice riding above the whole; or even a solitary wraith might sit with one orb, and pour his or her soul into the ether. It's a form of prayer. Of worship, for Void, and the son of Void. It's haunting and beautiful. It can be heard audibly, and must be carried on the still air to the lilim territory. It can be sensed in the shadows, by each creature who stops to feel the vibration. Each note might well be torn from the very soul.

The songs of sirenians can make one cast aside all good sense, and tear oneself upon the jagged rocks. The songs of angels can heal even physical injuries. The songs of the edion can charm any wild beast, and can make even the Voidtiger roll on its back for a belly rub.

If all this is true, wraith-song of the Sidiar tribes can rend a heart in two.

[A dubbed track I made, playing around with a sound clip. I like it, but am a little shy about it. So be gentle.]
